Xiamen Tungsten Co., Ltd. R&D center is a national level enterprise R&D center authorized by Chinese government and found in 2006.China National R&D Center for Tungsten material technology, based on Xiamen Tungsten Co. Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as XTC), was approved by Ministry of Science and Technology of China and established in 2007 as the only large technology research platform for tungsten material in China. 
The investment of the center has added up to 2500 million RMB, including more than 1500 million RMB on equipments for R&D, production and testing. A research platform of international advanced level was formed.XTC R&D center has a complete research management system and sticks to various motivation methods to attract talented people.Currently, the center has a strong research team of 145 faculty including 5 professorate senior engineers,26 senior engineers and 12 PhDs.XTC R&D center has achieved more than 150 major research programs, through which a series of proprietary technologies,products and equipments were developed and 63 invention patents applied.The center has also won the State Scientific and Technological Progress Award twice.

XTC has become a listed company in Shanghai Stock Exchange in 2002.XTC has presently 16 subsidiary companies covering tungsten/ molybdenum ore mining, smelting, further-processing and recycling. XTC has also built a complete rare earth industry system covering ore mining, smelting, new material, research and application.XTC is the largest manufacture of tungsten smelting products in the world and ranks amongst the top two cemented carbide enterprises domestically.
